NBC: SERI gets damning DNA from trash, links cold case murder suspect to evidence.

SERI’s analyst developed a DNA profile from items police found in suspect Glen McCurley’s trash bin; this profile matched DNA found on the victim’s clothing. Police provided SERI with McCurley’s reference DNA sample , and within 6 days the analyst was able to confirm McCurley’s DNA matched the DNA from the victim’s clothing. East Bay Times: SERI completed analysis within 48 hours.

SERI completed DNA analysis within 48 hours in this sexual assault case. The resulting DNA profile led to a CODIS hit linking suspect Alphonzo Lamont McInnis to the crime. McInnis was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Read the full East Bay Times article here.

Berkeleyside: SERI analyst matches DNA evidence to suspected shooter

SERI consults for the Innocence Project in the case of Jules Letemps.

Jules Letemps was granted a new trial as a result of SERI’s consultation for the defense. SERI examined the original notes and reports from the 25-year-old conviction and concluded that the serological testing at that time was performed and reported incorrectly.
