“Brian Wraxall, executive director of the Serological Research Institute, was called to the stand Tuesday afternoon to testify on behalf of murder suspect Dr. Bradley Schwartz.”
“Wraxall told jurors that while he doesn’t quibble with the results DNA expert Curtis Reinbold came up with, he does have a problem with the way those results were interpreted. Reinbold, an Arizona Department of Public Safety criminalist, made assumptions that he shouldn’t have, Wraxall said.
Wraxall said he interpreted the data two ways. In the first, he came up with the one in every 1,363 white people figure. In the second, he concluded one in every 190 people has that same partial profile.
The defense witness also said he has a problem with the way a second DPS expert performed another type of DNA test.”
